"Ask
me to show you Poetry in motion, and I will show you a Horse"
Welcome
to the world of Miniature Horses!
These adorable little horses are a unique breed - an elegant, little scaled
down version of a large size horse. Miniatures are a height breed. A true
miniature, as defined by the American Miniature Horse Association, must
be under 34" (measured at the withers, which is the last hair of
the mane) to the ground.
Miniature Horses make excellent pets due to their gentle affectionate
nature, small size, and versatility. Children can learn to care for and
even ride some of the larger minis long before they would be able to handle
a horse or pony; while older people, and those with physical handicaps,
have found the miniature to be an excellent substitute for the full-size
horse they may not be physically able to handle. Everyone else just seems
to fall in love with them and cant resist the charm of a "pint-sized"
horse!
Whether you are looking for companionship, pleasure, fun or competition,
the Miniature Horse does it all! Go for a relaxing drive, show off your
mini in a parade, visit the elderly in nursing homes, and have some fun
winning ribbons at a show! The AMHA (American Miniature Horse Association)
and AMHR (American Miniature Horse Registry) sponsor shows throughout
the United States for those who enjoy the thrill of competition. Miniatures
compete in Halter, Hunter/Jumper, Driving, Obstacle/Trail, and Showmanship
Classes.
Whatever you are looking for, we want to help you find that perfect mini
to add to your family.
Please take a look around. We do offer a few AMHA foals for sale each
year, and have "rescue horses" that need good homes on a regular basis.
"Where
in this wide world can [a person] find nobility without pride, friendship
without envy, or beauty without vanity? Here, where grace is laced with
muscle and strength by gentleness confined. He serves without servility,
has fought without enmity. There is nothing so powerful, nothing less
violent, there is nothing so quick, nothing so patient."
